US Internet is breaking new ground and reshaping the city’s profile by bringing the highest of high speed gigabit fiber optic Internet access to individual residences. The fiber backbone, which has been gradually built up and fleshed out over the past few years, provides the speed and connectivity to keep vital city communication services on the leading edge.  Now the network is being expanded even further, positioning Minneapolis as one of the first cities, and certainly the first metropolitan area of it’s size, to deliver fiber to the premises (FTTP).

The first phase of the Minneapolis FTTP project began in 2010, covering the area between France and Xerxes, 50th to 52nd Street.  In 2011 Pleasant and Pillsbury, between Lake and 48th were added and in 2012 we’ll be covering about three times more ground, starting at Dupont and going over to Harriet, also between Lake and 48th.  Click here for a complete list of our coverage areas.
